M+B Consulting Electrical Engineers welcomes Darryl Knittle as New Chief Executive Officer.
We are pleased to announce that effective October 1st, Darryl Knittle will take over the role of CEO for M+B. This transition marks the next milestone in our company’s future and signifies the next chapter of innovation and growth.
New CEO
Darryl has been a valued partner and senior electrical designer at M+B, bringing nearly three decades of experience as an accomplished electrical engineer and lighting design expert. He joined M+B after graduating from the University of Calgary with a degree in Electrical Engineering. Beyond his academic qualifications, Darryl holds professional accreditations such as LEED® Accredited Professional (LEED® AP) and Lighting Certified (LC) Professional (NCQLP), reflecting his commitment to excellence in his field. His expertise in lighting design and power distribution, gained from large-scale projects, positions him as a highly sought-after industry professional.
Having previously served as the Chief Operating Officer at M+B, Darryl has played a pivotal role in propelling the company’s success. He will undoubtedly continue to contribute to our ongoing growth and prosperity.

Over the last several years, Nick Halls has led M+B Electrical Consulting Engineers (Mulvey & Banani International (Alberta) Inc.) with dedication and vision as its CEO and President. His direction remains one of growth and service.
Nick will continue as President while Darryl takes on the running of the day-to-day business as CEO. Over his term, Nick has seen M+B expand its consulting services footprint in Western Canada and open its new office in Edmonton in 2017. M+B has also extended its services with new electrical specialized solutions for healthcare, senior facilities, and residential projects. With projects in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, M+B continues to increase its geographical footprint.

New COO
With Darryl taking on a larger role in the company, a new chapter is about to begin for Erik Byrgesen as he steps into the role of COO. Erik brings over 16 years of engineering design and operations expertise and is now stepping into the role of COO. Known for his results-driven approach and strong focus on municipal projects, he delivers quality solutions. Erik’s leadership emphasizes engineering excellence and top-tier service, empowering his team to achieve outstanding outcomes. With a focus on operational efficiency and client satisfaction, he is well-positioned to drive success in his new position.
In his new role as COO, he is eager and committed to “driving the company’s growth in today’s evolving electrical industry, ensuring adaptability and innovation to meet emerging challenges and opportunities.”
